Catudal's Fall 2020 Courses

“A philosophical problem has the form: ‘I can't find my way about’.”

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the study of philosophy. The links above lead to the two courses I am teaching this quarter. These are PHIL 101-003 Introduction to Western Philosophy and PHIL 212-001 The Trial and Death of Socrates. Click on the link of the course you registered for after you have read the following important information.

We are living in challenging times. The necessity for pursuing online many more courses than is usual at Drexel University will be obvious to all. What isn’t obvious, particularly if you’ve never had an online course, is that it is very easy to fall behind very quickly. So make every effort to keep up with the material as it is presented to you. Be assured that I am always available should you wish to discuss any of the issues we will be broaching this quarter.

CONTACT INFORMATION DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

While you may send me an email message at any time, there are a number of ways you can communicate with me in a live setting. The key is to first send me an email message (cat@drexel.edu) sufficiently ahead of time (a full day would be great) to let me know when during call-in hours you are planning to call or Skype. Be sure to include your name and a phone number where I can reach you in case problems arise. (You can use the CONTACT menu link (above) to do this.) I will then confirm by return email message the day and time with you. On rare occasions call-in may be limited to 10 minutes if several people indicate an intention to call during the same call-in period. Call-in hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and 2:00 to 3:15 p.m. If those days and times are unavailable to you, let me know available times and we will work something out. The contact numbers are as follows:

Cell/FaceTime: (267) 615-8354 (during call-in hours beginning Tuesday, September 22, 2020)
Skype Address: catudal (during call-in hours beginning Tuesday, September 22, 2020)

In the meantime, here's wishing you an interesting and productive fall quarter.
